A video management platform, beyond the VMS.
Occurra is a cloud-native, AI-native platform for managing video — a VMS, and well beyond one. It runs from one site to many: advanced under the hood, yet simple enough that the person who owns the problem can actually use it.
Record every camera, then ask it questions in plain language, set rules that act on their own, and rely on it for assurance — proof of what happened, when it matters.
Scales with you
From one site to many — the same tool throughout, with one login and roles, sites and hours set per person.
Easy
Made for the person who owns the problem, not a trained operator.
Cloud-native
One login across every site; your footage stays on your own recorder.
AI-native
The software watches, understands and answers — you don't.
Open
An open platform — connect the tools you already run, and build on it with APIs and rules.
Ask your cameras a question.
Occurra records every camera on your site, indexes what they see, and answers in plain language — with the footage attached.
A single session in Occurra, start to finish.
How it works
Three things, and the third is the one you notice.
It records
A recorder at your site keeps every camera rolling, around the clock, onto your own storage. Live and archive, from any browser.
It watches
As footage lands, Occurra works out what is in it — people, vehicles, the moments they turn up — and keeps that searchable.
It answers
Ask the way you would ask a colleague. You get a sentence back, and the camera and the minute behind it, one click away.
Every blue phrase in an answer is a link to the camera at that moment.
Capabilities
What you get besides the answer.
Ask, and find
Type what you are after: silver van at the loading bay after six. Occurra searches what the cameras saw, not file names, and every answer links to the moment it came from. Name the things you care about once, and it knows them after that.
Told, not looking
Rules turn what the cameras see into something that reaches you: anyone at the back door after hours. Events arrive as notifications, and the motion timeline shows the rest of the day at a glance.
Stays on your recorder
Video is written to storage at your site and stays there — encrypted, if you want it that way. The cloud carries the index and the connection, so you reach your cameras from a laptop anywhere without opening a port on your network.
Sites, not servers
One login covers every location. Give someone a role, the sites they need and the hours they may use them; faces and plates stay blurred for everyone but administrators. Servers take their own updates, in a window you choose.
What you can ask
Anything a person can see, Occurra can see too.
Ask it in plain language, or turn it into a rule that acts on its own.
"Is there a parking space free right now?"
Occurra checks the cameras and answers — no flicking through views.
"Is Alex's car here?"
Name the people and vehicles you care about, then just ask where they are.
"How many people are in the building right now?"
Occurra counts across the cameras that cover the ways in and out.
"Warn anyone entering the zone without a hard hat."
A rule watches the entrance and speaks a warning through the camera the moment it happens.
"If several people put their hands up at once, call security."
It looks like a holdup — Occurra raises the alarm on its own, day or night.
"Notify me if someone in a grey hoodie waits by the back gate."
Describe a person in plain words; Occurra watches for the match and tells you.
"Tell me when a shelf is running empty."
A rule watches the aisles and pings you to restock before customers notice.
"Warn me when the checkout queue gets long."
Occurra watches the line and flags it, so you can open another till in time.
"Show me all the red SUVs from today."
Search by what a vehicle looks like — colour, type, time — and get every clip.
Get involved
We're looking for pilot sites — and people who see it.
Occurra is in early development — pre-alpha, still rough, and changing fast. We are looking for a few organisations willing to run it as a pilot. Pilots are free, and we are not out to make money on early partners: help us make it genuinely good — starting with your sites — and we will be more than fair on whatever comes next. We would just as happily hear from investors, or anyone who sees a potential fit. This isn't a sales pitch — it's a conversation.
